I love a good haiku – partly because 17 syllables seems like such an arbitrary convention for poetic form and partly because it is nearly impossible to say much in 17 syllables. As a result, haikus stretch me like no other writing convention and force me to convey ideas in pithy language. This is my experiment in crafting a haiku with meaning.
I found your site at 22 Words. Haiku as always been my favorite type of poetry to write–I guess because a lot of the decisions are made for me. That’s probably not the same reason that you like it. I look forward to reading more…
